Time Based Arts is a world-leading visual effects and colour grading studio located in Shoreditch, London. We make commercials, music videos, film & episodic content and other interesting creative projects that rely upon time, craft and expertise. Since opening in 2008, we have worked with some of the most revered directors and creatives in the world, redefining how post-production is perceived in what is a rapidly evolving area of innovation.
We have been consistently recognised for outstanding creativity by D&AD, AICP, Cannes Lions, Emmy’s, Creative Circle and Ciclope, as well as being named ‘VFX Company of the Year’ at the British Arrows Awards.

Studio
Time Based Arts stands quietly at the heart of East London’s creative hub confidently low-profile in a district known for its boldness. Tucked away in a courtyard off Curtain Road, just a stone’s throw from Old Street, our characterful studio spans 12,000 sq ft of warehouse space and a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse, annexed to the rear of Shoreditch Town Hall. It’s an environment that inspires and nurtures a culture of creativity and expression. We have our own bar, rooftop and gallery space.
As a creatively and ethically led visual effects studio, we continually work to make positive actions which inspire our community to preserve and protect people and the planet.

Art Practice is a creators’ studio made up of award-winning directors, designers, photographers and artists. It is the sister company to Time Based Arts. Independently owned and run, together they share the same ethos, values and culture.
Pivotal projects such as Honda ‘Dream Makers’ and Channel 4 ‘Idents’, shine a light on the broad range of skills and vision that can be accessed across the two companies.
Art Practice is dedicated to realising extraordinary craft focused work that requires makers’ expertise. The team is agile and multi-disciplinary, able to write, develop and author content for brands as well as respond to creative briefs in collaboration with agencies.
Art Practice also supports a wider community of artists, writers and photographers in the execution and exhibition of their work at their Curtain Road gallery and beyond.
